THE OUR FATHER

Our Father,
Who art in Heaven, hallowed be Thy name;
Thy Kingdom come, Thy will be done
on earth as it is in Heaven.

Give us this day our daily bread;
and forgive us our trespasses
as we forgive those who trespass against us;
and lead us not into temptation,
but deliver us from evil.

Amen.

THE APOSTLE'S CREED

I believe in God, the Father Almighty,
Creator of heaven and earth;
and in Jesus Christ, His only Son, our Lord:
Who was conceived by the Holy Spirit,
born of the Virgin Mary;
suffered under Pontius Pilate,
was crucified, died and was buried.

He descended into hell; the third day
He rose again from the dead;
He ascended into heaven,
is seated at the right hand
of God the Father Almighty;
from thence He shall come
to judge the living and the dead.

I believe in the Holy Spirit,
the Holy Catholic Church,
the communion of Saints,
the forgiveness of sins,
the resurrection of the body,
and life everlasting.

Amen.

GLORY BE

Glory be to the Father and to the Son and to the Holy Spirit.
As it was in the beginning, is now,
and ever shall be, world without end.

Amen.

COME HOLY SPIRIT

Come Holy Spirit, fill the hearts of your faithful
and kindle in us the fire of your love.
Send forth your Spirit and we shall be created.
And you shall renew the face of the earth.

LET US PRAY:
Oh God who by the light of the Holy Spirit
did instruct the hearts of the faithful
grant that by the same Holy Spirit we may be truly wise
and ever rejoice in his consolations through Christ our Lord.

Amen.

HAIL MARY

Hail Mary full of Grace,
the Lord is with thee.
Blessed are thou among women
and blessed is the fruit
of thy womb, Jesus.

Holy Mary, Mother of God,
pray for us sinners,
now and at the hour of our death.

Amen.

Blessing Before Meals

Bless us Lord for the gift of each other.
Bless us as we share this food, nourish
us, now and always. Bless those without
food and especially those without love.
We ask this through Christ, our brother
and our Lord.

Amen.

Blessing After Meals

We thank you Father for gifts we share,
love that binds, food that nourishes.
As we receive, so let us give, forever in
your name.

Amen.

ACT OF CONTRITION

O my God, I am heartily sorry for having offended You
and I detest all my sins, because I dread the
loss of heaven and the pains of hell, but most
of all because they offend You, my God, who
are all good and deserving of all my love.
I firmly resolve, with the help of your grace,
to confess my sins, to do penance and to
amend my life.

Amen.

THE SALVE REGINA (HAIL HOLY QUEEN)

Hail Holy Queen, Mother of Mercy, our life, our sweetness, and our hope.
To thee do we cry poor banished children of Eve.
To thee do we send up our sighs,
mourning and weeping in this valley of tears.

Turn, then, most gracious Advocate, your eyes of mercy toward us.
And after this our exile, show us unto the blessed Fruit of thy womb, Jesus.

O clement, O loving, O sweet Virgin Mary,
pray for us O Holy Mother of God...
that we may be made worthy of the promises of Christ.

Amen

ANGEL OF GOD

Angel of God
my guardian dear,
to whom God's love commits me here;
ever this day be at my side,
to light and guard,
to rule and guide.

Amen.

PRAYER OF ST FRANCIS
St Francis of Assisi

Lord, make me an instrument of your peace
Where there is hatred... let me sow love.
Where there is injury... pardon.
Where there is discord... unity.
Where there is doubt... faith.
Where there is error... truth.
Where there is despair... hope.
Where there is sadness... joy.
Where there is darkness... light.

O Divine Master, grant that I may not so much seek
To be consoled... as to console.
To be understood... as to understand.
To be loved... as to love.

For
It is in giving... that we recieve.
It is in pardoning... that we are pardoned.
It is in dying... that we are born to eternal life.

A PRAYER FOR PRIESTS

O Jesus, Eternal Priest, keep all thy priests within the shelter of thy Sacred Heart,
where none can harm them.

Keep unstained their anointed hands which
daily touch thy Sacred Body.
Keep unsullied their lips purpled
with thy Precious Blood.

Keep pure and unearthly their hearts
sealed with the sublime marks of
thy glorious priesthood.

Let thy holy love surround them and
shield them from the world's contagion.

Bless their labors with abundant fruit,
and may the souls to whom they have ministered
be here below their joy and consolation
and in Heaven their beautiful and everlasting crown.

Amen.

O Mary, Queen of the clergy,
pray for us; obtain for us a number of holy priests.

Amen.

PRAYER FOR LIFE

O God, our Creator,
All life is in your hands from conception until death.
Help us to cherish our children and to reverence
the awesome privilege of our share in creation.
May all people live and die in dignity and love.
Bless all those who defend the rights of the unborn,
the handicapped and the aged.
Enlighten and be merciful toward those who fail to love,
and give them peace.
Let freedom be tempered by responsibility, integrity and morality.

Amen.

PRAYER FOR THE UNBORN

The late Archbishop Fulton J. Sheen encouraged the spiritual
adoption of an unborn child. This is done by praying that one
particular but unknown child's life be spared abortion and be
allowed to continue to live.

During your earthly life this spiritually adopted child of yours
will be known only to God but in the world to come it is hoped
that you will meet the child whose life was spared by your
prayers and spend eternal happiness with them.

To help accomplish this, it was recommended an individual
say the following daily prayer for a period of one year:

"Jesus, Mary and Joseph, I love you very much.
I beg you to spare the life of the unborn baby that
I have spiritualy adopted who is in danger of abortion."

PRAYER FOR OUR FAMILY

We beseech You, God of mercy and love,
to watch over this family of ours.
Through the intercession of Blessed Mary,
ever Virgin, protect us from all adversity.
May every member of our family be wholly devoted to You.
In Your kindness guard us all from every evil.

Amen.

RENEWAL OF BAPTISMAL PROMISES

Lord Jesus Christ,

I acknowledge you as King of the universe.
All creation was made for you.
Exercise all your sovereign rights over me.

I renew my baptismal promises,
renouncing Satan and all his works and empty promises,
and I promise to lead a good Christian life.
I will try to bring about the recognition of
the truth of God and your Church.

Divine Heart of Jesus, I offer all my actions
that every human heart may accept your kingship.

May the kingdom of your peace
be established across the world.

Amen.

A PRAYER FOR PRIESTS

Keep them, I pray Thee, dearest Lord,
Keep them, for they are Thine;
Thy priests whose lives burn out before
Thy consecrated shrine.

Keep them, for they are in the world.
Though from the world apart;
When earthly pleasures tempt, allure,
Shelter them in Thy heart.

Keep them and, comfort them in hours
Of loneliness and pain,
When all their life of sacrifice
For souls seems but in vain.

Keep them, and O remember, Lord,
They have no one but Thee,
Yet they have only human hearts,
With human frailty.

Keep them as spotless as the Host,
That daily they caress;
Their every thought and word and deed,
Deign, dearest Lord, to bless.

PRAYER TO ST. JOSEPH

Oh, St. Joseph whose protection is so great,
so strong, so prompt before the Throne of God,
I place in you all my interests and desires.

Oh, St. Joseph do assist me by your powerful
intercession, and obtain for me from your
Divine Son all spiritual blessings,
through Jesus Christ, Our Lord; so that,
having engaged here below your Heavenly power,
I may offer my Thanksgiving and
Homage to the most Loving of Fathers.

Oh, St. Joseph I never weary contemplating you
and Jesus asleep in your arms.
I dare not approach while He reposes near your heart.
Press Him in my name and kiss His fine Head for me,
and ask Him to return the kiss when I draw my dying breath.

St. Joseph, Patron of departing souls, pray for us.

Amen.
